Looking for an easy read book that is still exciting. I tend to read historical fictions, mystery and fiction. Ive tried some romance books, but tend to get uninterested quickly. I need a break from heavy subjects and writing that makes you think too much. Doesn’t have to be a memorable book, just something to get my mind off of work and stress of the world.

Have you read the In Death mystery series by JD Robb? It’s about a NYC police detective set like 30 or 40 years in the future.
The Martian. It’s a fun read, it’s fairly short, and it’s self-contained so there’s no followup.
Any of Bill Bryson’s travel books or anything by Douglas Adams!
I read Circe recently and I think it ticks all of your boxes. Super fun reimagining of greek mythology and extremely readable.
