Looking for a good book on a real life private investigation, the closer to modern day the better and ideally something about the search for a missing person. I'm not looking for anything engrossing or climactic (it's for research more than anything), just real life accounts of how a private investigation happened.
Also I'm aware of Tell Me Everything by Erika Krouse, but I'm not sure it's quite what I'm looking for.
