I reflected on my high school reading curriculum and how male-oriented it was. And of the female books, there were a couple like Edith Wharton that were really solid but alot of female oriented novels were either romantic in nature or about an insane women. What "formative" books would you add to round out a high school reading curriculum?

    1. Hunger Games, The Hate You Give, books by Elizabeth Acevedo, Code Name Verity all come to mind.

    2. *The Memory Police* is very Orwellian like 1984, but with a female protagonist, which could be good for critical reading and discussion
