I am 30 years old male. Today I have deleted most of the social media apps from my phone as I was spending way too much time on them. I would like to get hold of life again.

I have never read a book before and often find myself losing concentration whenever I tried to read a book. I would like to start reading books.

My interests are health and fitness, history, cars, motivational books or building a skill. I also suffer from anxiety and if there is any book which can help me overcome my anxiety, I would love to read it. Please suggest me something

    1. If you like history, I can suggest a few WW1 books:

All Quiet on the Western Front – fiction, pretty short novel, was a blockbuster when it came out in 1928. Follows the progress of some German soldiers in the First World War

The Guns of August by Barbara Tuchman – nonfiction, a controversial book which is intended as a history book but it’s not considered a serious book at all by actual history scholars. it is nevertheless a pretty good book. think of someone gossiping about the history of the first world war.

Goodbye to All That by Robert Graves – he’s a great writer, and actual veteran of the first world war, and this is his sort of glib memoir. I love this book, and have a first edition copy.

The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder by David Grann

This author writes the best non-fiction books I’ve personally read. As a side note, you also might want to try audio books while doing something physical as a way to get into reading. Libby (free library app), Hoopla (another free library app) and Spotify (as part of premium) all have them.
