So I've not been reading long, around 18 months-2 years, in that time I've read Mistborn trilogy, the first law trilogy and currently been working through stormlight archives and GoT series.
The issue I'm having is that all the books I'm reading are series, meaning when I start reading, I'm locked in for months at a time.
I'm looking for some smaller books/novels to read between/along side the main books to try and avoid storyline fatigue. As for genre I've obviously leant toward fantasy but I'm not against other genres.
My general knowledge of popular books and things is very limited so I'm open to all suggestions!

Guy Gavriel Kay has some knock out standalone fantasy books – Tigana, The Lions of Al-Rassan are high up in his catalogue
Piranesi – Susanna Clarke. Different to what you’re use to but I think it’s a great book
The Sword of Kaigen – ML Wang
The Spear Cuts Through Water (LGBT) – Simon Jimenez
The Goblin Emperor – Katherine Addison
If you’re open to sci fi – Project Hail Mary is fun. Hyperion & The Fall of Hyperion are excellent.
