My husband and I enjoy reading together. One of us will read out loud to the other while we’re driving, doing chores, or snuggling on the couch. We just read Ender’s Game and before that finished the Game of Thrones series. What should we read next? Looking for a fiction book. My husband mainly reads sci-fi and I mainly read fantasy and contemporary fiction. We’re open to other genres as well or something that’s a good combination of our interests!

My partner and I read Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere books together last year and really enjoyed the experience. I realize that is a polarizing rec in book subs sometimes, but I honestly think it would be a decent followup to the ones you mentioned, particularly either The Stormlight Archive or the Mistborn series.

    2. Recommend the Murderbot series or Mistborn. Murderbot is sci-fi and Mistborn is fantasy. Both excellent writing, vibrant characters and great plots!

    3. Ilona Andrews Innkeeper Chronicles –A magic Inn, space werewolves and vampires, a lot of really unique aliens, mystery, romance, action, a fun and humorous series

I’m reading with my husband, the Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews. It’s a bit more sci-fi fantasy romance. It’s about this Inn on earth that only hosts aliens. It is mostly based on earth, but there is intergalactic travel as well. The characters are funny and original. Clean Sweep is the first one.
