I definitely missed the bandwagon for Game of Thrones, I haven’t read or seen anything of it but years later still hear people talking about it. Is it worth the hype? Is it worth reading?
I started reading the first book and found the writing to be very well done, for what that short opinion is worth. In case you aren’t aware though the series is not finished and likely won’t be, which is why I didn’t continue reading.

I was going to read them until I read the reviews. Turns out they are more raunchy than the tv series.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show, (aside from the last two endings) I have two trains of thoughts, from what I understand what is written is supposed to be extremely good, but it is very questionable whether the author will ever actually finish the series so it could end up being very open ended. If you are okay with that possibility and enjoy grim dark fantasy then you could probably enjoy it. I personally am waiting to see if it ever receives a legitimate ending from the author before I dive into it personally.

I have had a bunch of friends suggest it, but I am going to bet on this one being finished on whether or not I start it at all and just accept the tv show storyline. If he doesn’t finish the series then I probably will not read it.

Read ASOIAF when I was 13. They’re SO GOOD. Better than the show; especially the first 4 books. You have to be okay with the fact that they’re never being completed though.
