Trying to read again as an adult, desperate for any recommendations

As the title says, I (22F) am trying to pick up reading again but I'm struggling to find I guess my genre. I read a lot as a child, my favourite genres seemed to be Young Adult (e.g. Hunger Games & Twilight), fantasy (e.g. The Spooks books & The Spiderwick Chronicles) and I also had a love for Lauren St John's books (e.g. The White Giraffe & One Dollar Horse).

I have tried a few recommendations but they're all, for lack of a better description, too explicit for my taste. I've been eyeing the Jurassic Park novel but other than that I don't have any idea what to try. I'm open to all genres apart from non-fiction.
