With another post asking for recommendations about non fiction books that read like fiction, I wanted to ask about the opposite.
The obvious books that I have read that come to mind are
-
When we cease to understand the world by Benjamin Labatut
-
books by Annie Ernaux have been autobiographical fiction, but it seems like she rejects this idea.

Daisy Jones and the Six feels very real to me.
Olaf Stapledon’s Last and First Men kind of reads like a history textbook.
Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel
The Message by Mai Jia gave me very non-fiction vibes
World War Z
Ishiguro’s The Remains of the Day reads like a memoir
Fantasticland by Mike Bockoben is written in a documentary style about a group of people who survived being stranded in a theme park after a hurricane.
Would recommend listening to the audiobook.
