It starts with us – should I continue?

I'm sorry i wanted to give colleen Hoover another chance, and took up it starts with u and man was it a bad choice!

This is the first line of the book,

"The way ass whole is misspelled in red spray paint across the back door of Bib's makes me think of my mother."

I couldn't read any further. Only she can put mother and ass – "whole" in the same sentence. Very distasteful. Am I overreacting?
People who read the book, should I give it another go?
