Say nothing by Patrick radden keefe, and killers of the flower moon
It’s not exactly true crime (though it overlaps pretty significantly in parts) but The Cold Vanish by Jon Billman was excellent I couldn’t put it down and it had the exact same appeal as true crime. It touches on a whole lot but broadly it’s about missing persons in national parks and other public lands.
Just read In Cold Blood. It’s a little bit slow at the beginning but he really paints a picture for you and sets the inevitable scene up perfectly.
I read a book called Silentcide by Richard Ebert.
He’s a suspense thriller writer WITH A NEW TWIST
He’s an author from my state and incorporates photos (that he has taken himself in his photography) of the places in which the murderer siblings you follow commit crimes. So you can really FEEL and envision those places.
Few different countries. The first book includes 135 Photos you QR scan in 15 different cities. The perspective is exactly theirs as he stands in the spot he describes them in
Edit: is not true crime my bad
It’s technically fiction, but Bright Young Women is heavily based on the Ted Bundy case with a different perspective and I thought it was incredibly good. A new look at how Ted Bundy came to be idolized when it was the victims who deserved to be remembered
*Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murders* by Curt Gentry and Vincent Bugliosi
