Hi all,
I'm (31M UK) hoping someone can help me find a book that keeps me coming back. I often find that I can read for a while and enjoy it, but then I put the book down and take months to go back.
I was never much of a reader growing up. I'm a slow reader, and often find myself getting distracted, reading words but not taking them in. I'm hoping to find a book that will keep me engaged and want to come back.
I have tried a few different books, some I have finished, some I have not. I have tried to read a few books that I have seen the movie/series for, but I found this difficult.
Read in the past few years:
- Good Omens (Finished, read before the series. Quite liked this)
- Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (Finished, a long time since I saw the film. Enjoyed)
- John Dies At The End (Incomplete, find this really bizarre and hard to follow)
- American Gods (Incomplete, got a bit bored)
- Convenience Store Woman (Finished, suggested by my GF. Straightforward and enjoyable)
I think I would enjoy things that are reasonably real world, without too much imagination or lore.
Any suggestions would be great, or please ask questions if I haven't given enough info.
