I know that’s kind of a confusing title but let me explain:
Recently, an author posted about their book series and it sounded awesome so I bought it. After reading a good bit of the first book, I found that it is in dire need of being edited. The second book was probably worse.
The author said he had an editor but changed from the first book to the second and beyond.
Anyways, the books got worse. The story is awesome and overall they’re mostly good but these need to be edited a lot. A lot.
So, should I mention that? I’m not an editor myself but I could definitely improve his books. I know some authors wouldn’t want to know and some others would.
Obviously, I don’t want to take away from the content if I brought this up to him but I feel like, since there’s plans for many more books, that it needs to be pointed out.
Ideas? Thoughts?
