I’m mostly interested in nonfiction books (medical, history, curiosities etc.) but am also looking into getting into fiction more. What are your favorite books that really immerse you? I would prefer something on the shorter side as I’m just getting into reading again!

I finished both *Slaughterhouse-Five* and *Sirens of Titan* by Kurt Vonnegut in 3 or fewer reading sessions each. Something about his writing style is just fiendish and I cannot get enough! I wouldn’t normally suggest Vonnegut to somebody who is “getting into reading again,” but since you’re used to reading nonfiction, I think it would still work!
His writing isn’t verbally complicated, actually it’s quite the opposite! Just the fact that they’re each 60-70 years old can create some challenges for some. But like I said, if you’re used to reading nonfiction history books, I think they’d still get the job done!
