Yesterday, I found a second hand copy of Everything in its Place: The Power of Mise-en-Place to organize your life, work and mind, and was thrilled. I read this book years ago and its engaging narrative, focusing on the concept of "mise-en-place" as used by chefs and applying it to other work and life realms, was a game-changer for me – like, serious enlightenment! A true "aha" moment where, of course, you need to get your tools set up and systems set up to successfully complete any project. Preparation is key and has to come first. It seems so simple and logical but it can be very tough to know where to begin or how to kickstart, esp if like me you have a racecar/ADHD enthusiasm that propels you immediately into action. Highly recommend this and pleased to see the book was re-issued under a different title, Work Clean. I wonder why this book didn't generate more interest given that Atomic Habits was a bestseller. It's very well written too.

So I'm re-reading this book and revisiting the concepts.

Any other suggestions for books that changed how you approach organization, self-motivation and tasks?
