Looking for recommendations for books (nonfiction) about recent life-changing advances in science, technology, and medicine. Or even advances that have happened in the more distant past that drastically affected humanity's progress and quality of life. I enjoy biographies or memoirs about the people involved in these big discoveries, too.
Recent reads in this category (or close to it) that I've enjoyed:
– Code Breaker by Walter Isaacson (about Jennifer Doudna and co., CRISPR) (I have also read Elon Musk and Da Vinci)
– The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
– Radium Girls
– American Prometheus by Kai Bird
– I Contain Multitudes by Ed Yong
– Astrophysics for People in a Hurry
Thank you in advance!
