I'm a person that finds it very easy to go right down a downward spiral into a depression hole, and I'd like to learn to lighten up!
Please suggest books that can help. Fiction and non-fiction are welcome, but no religious books, please.

Kelly Ripa’s Live Wire was exactly this.. funny, whimsical, didnt take itself too seriously…and really a great book. I loved the audio. Didn’t expect it to be so fun.
The chronicles of Narnia always help cheer me up. There’s some heavy parts but they’re also quite whimsical and fun
P.G. Wodehouse
Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries – it’s about a professor who travels to remote villages to research the local faeries and folklore. I find it fun/whimsical to imagine I’m looking for them too when out for walks in nature 🙂
Sarah Addison Allen! I’ve read almost all of hers and they all scratch that whimsy itch. The Girl Who Chased the Moon is my rec.
The Wisteria Society for Lady Scoundrels by India Holton
The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst
The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna
Moonbound by Robin Sloan
