I always have a hard time selecting things to read, I was looking through r/books and they suggest here for advice in their FAQ.
Here are some books I have read and enjoyed:
All of the Harry Potter Series (including offshoots)
The cuckoos calling
All of Twilight (including short second life and midnight son)
Book 1 and 2 of the Witcher series
Ready Player One
No water for elephants
Books that were just "Ok" to me
The Empyrean series (All read)
Mostly enjoyed these by skipping the spicy stuff when it showed up, just wasn't interested in reading it.
American God's (Neil Gaimen)
Interesting premise wasn't amazing nor bad.
Books I disliked:
Gunslinger series (Stephen King) – stopped reading, just not interesting to me
Games of Thrones (RR Martin) – stopped with section of off shoot book
Lightlark (Aster) –
Each chapter was the same as the previous – basically two new pages of story followed by an explanation of the premise of the book (at least that's what it seemed to me)
These are basically the most recent reads.. I hope this helps.
EDIT: Phone cut off part of explanation.
