    Alright buckle up I’m about to blow your Reddit minds right now. I was a fan of certain aspects of Ayn Rands book the fountainhead. Not so much the individualism/capitalism/sociopathy however in the same breath there was a lot to digest in the individual confidence of the novel. The explanation of Roark, Dominique and Wymans indifference to others opinions. I found this extremely helpful in my personal life.

    So my question is, what are some other books about indifference and individual confidence? Something fiction that shows the characters bravery in the face of societal or others opinions?

    Thanks everyone. I know this sub thinks Ayn Rand is food for the birds but bear with me, I read for entertainment not self enlightenment or intelectualism.

    1. I can’t recommend I Hope I Screw This Up by Kyle Cease enough!

      Although, this book isn’t fiction.

    2. As much as he goes more “on the nose” in later books, Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth series hits much of Rand themes, and with better writing. He did a great job summing up Atlas Shrugged’s massive speech (13 pages?) down to 3 paragraphs. The first book is {{Wizard’s First Rule, by Goodkind}}

      {{Stranger in a Strange Land, by Hienlien}}

      More of a theme of ideals vs. culture, {{Son of the Black Sword, by Corriea}}
