Hi fellow readers!
Please let me know what your fantasy favorite books/book series are, especially if they are written by women/have strong female characters.
I have read and loved many of the classics (LotR, GoT) and my favorite series is Eragon (don’t judge me) and I’m looking for something in this range but about the girlies.
I’ve also read ACOTAR etc and while I really enjoyed them I want something that goes deeper into the plot/world building.
Thank you for sharing!

You’re already going to get recommended some of the more popular and obvious ones so I’m going to recommend The Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski! Definitely not what would first come to mind but, while it starts off following the male lead, it becomes increasingly focused on a powerful cast of female characters as the story progresses. It also dives deep into politics, philosophy, and world-building in a way that sets it apart from other fantasy series.
I enjoyed Fourth Wing.
Excited to see others suggestions for this one!

Have you read any Tamora Pierce? All of her (except the newest book) are written for and about girls. The Lioness Quartet is the earliest series if you’re worried about spoilers but it was her first published and is a little rough, so I’d start with the Immortals Quartet personally.
