Any Southern gothic favorites? I’ve been feeling so inspired by Ethel Cain’s album, Preacher’s Daughter. And am now looking to find that feeling in a novel!
Flannery o’Connor seems the place to start. The novels are great (particularly Wise Blood) but the short stories are where the real genius is.

I enjoyed Mexican Gothic which was written a few years ago. I did find myself googling a lot because I knew none of the terms but it was a good slow burn gothic!
