Something less Ottessa Moshfegh/sylvia Plath and more Eleanor oliphant/ convenience store woman vibes.
I'm looking for a book with someone who is very outcast and lonely but finds joy or humor in it and isn’t horribly depressed or suicidal about it.
Romance is fine, YA/ middle grade is fine too :). I'm just looking to feel understood lol

Ooh try The Maid by Nita Prose. It is a murder mystery narrated by a woman who seems to have a form of autism although that is never explicitly spelled out. Very funny and endearing, good characters, I loved it
