My favorite thing about reading is discovering new, unique, and honestly absurd ideas. My favorite book at the moment is The Wandering Earth short story collection by Cixin Liu, starting a new story and discovering the idea behind it gives me a dopamine hit like no other! I love sci-fi but it really doesn't have to be, that's just a plus. I hope you understand kind of what I'm looking for, not sure how to describe this genre of books!
a list of some books/movies/shows with similar vibes that I've really enjoyed:
- The three body problem series by Cixin Liu
- Earthlings by Sayaka Murata
- Everything everywhere all at once
- The substance
- Parasite
- Alice in borderland
- Black mirror

The starless sea and the night circus by erin morgenstern. I personally loved the starless sea better, but both are really good and not your typical fantasy story.
