I am in a slump where every book I read is not really “getting me” with their final twists or surprises. I am looking for a story that really gets you without ever out right lying to you about what is happening in the story. I have read my entire life, but only recently learned there is a whole genre of unreliable narrative books, some of which I have even read but never realized that is what it was. What is one you would recommend reading or would highly suggest I avoid? Tyia!

I love unreliable narrators. Except I hate suggesting books based on this because it kinda takes the fun out of discovering your narrator is not what you thought. That said, I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid is one of my faves
Recommend The Last Days of Jack Sparks by Jason Arnopp
Annihilation
Pedro Paramo by Juan Rulfo is an absolutely legendary Mexican book, it’s pretty much the original of Latin American magical realism!
