Hi, I've been on a shipwreck book binge lately and it's been exhilarating, but I'm beginning to feel the need to change it up. I just read The Wager (amazing) and I'm now halfway through Endurance (slower paced, but still very good). Next up is Skeletons on the Zahara and I cant wait to get into it.

I was suggested The Indifferent Stars Above, but contrary to popular opinion, I found it dull due to the lack of dialogue and vague character descriptions. I respect that the author chose not to put words into people's mouths or make assumptions on how they were feeling, but it was super dry without these details. Historically, it's a tragic story worth knowing, but I could not get into the author's writing style.

I'm a sucker for a survival story in any setting – modern day to ancient times, animal attacks to serial killers to warfare.

I'd be very interested in any suggestions and/or discussion. Thank you!

    1. The Night of the Grizzlies is a pretty fascinating story. It’s also pretty gruesome just an fyi.

    2. BespectacledZebra on

If you haven’t read Into Thin Air, that one is a must-read. The Lost City of Z and Into the Wild are solid picks as well!
