By coincidence, I found myself reading the first two books in the "of darkness" trilogy. I recently finished The Left Hand of Darkness and I am now reading Heart of Darkness. I am enjoying the series. In particular, how HoD (set many centuries before LHoD) provides a stark contrast in attitudes towards other groups of people, and how technologies may be used for oppression instead of achieving good.
I am finding HoD a bit harder to follow. I like the writing in both books but there is something different in the style. Almost as if they were written by completely different people.
Is there a third "of darkness" book and do you recommend it? Now that I have started, I am eager to round off the trilogy.
