I recently rediscovered my love for reading after being given a Tana French book. I’ve read all nine of her books over the last six months. The Witch Elm was the only one I didn’t love, but the rest were excellent.
I’m trying to reverse engineer why her books clicked with me so well. I think what I enjoyed the most are that her books have the simplicity of page turner mysteries that keep me engaged but are also really character driven and not just straight procedurals. I like the mix of the simple mystery combined with the complex and compelling world of characters.
With all this in mind, does anyone have other mystery authors or books that they think I would enjoy? In case it helps, I just finished reading The Dry by Jane Harper. That was a good read but it didn’t hook me quite the same way that Tana French did.
