I recently read Shutter Island, and it was a 10/10. Ever since, I’ve been unable to find books that hook me in the same way. I especially loved the psychological aspect. I’ve looked into books that share similar genres, but I haven’t found anything too appealing.
I tried to start Before I Go to Sleep and Pretty Girls, but they just couldn’t keep me interested.
Some other books I really enjoyed and was able to finish are Primal Fear, Strangers on a Train, The Couple Next Door, Gone Girl, and American Psycho (not a thriller, but I love the satire as well as the underlying message regarding materialism).
So far, I’ve only looked for recommendations on Google, which hasn’t been very helpful. I’d appreciate any recommendations a lot.
