Was it so good you want everyone to read it? Was it a book loved by everyone, except you? Was it unlike anything you’ve ever read before? Was it the book that got you into reading? Was it a book you continue to dissect to this day? I’m looking for some books that leave me thinking/talking about them long after I’ve finished reading. So far, I would say The Book Thief and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas are the books I can’t stop talking or thinking about.

Ali Hazelwood got me through a huge suppressive reading slump, and her books made me feel seen
The Wandering Inn is unlike any other series I’ve read, it’s much slower, but also extremely realistic
Anything from or about ancient Greece/Rome. I have made myself read too many of them, and they always make me want to sleep just thinking about them. They’re all terrible, and I hate them.
Dungeon crawler Carl. So original and so well executed. It really is at the top of its genre (litrpg) by miles. I have bought copies for all my friends and they are now hooked as well.
Intermezzo by Sally Rooney. I am not saying that I recommend it. I was angry about it for a week after I read it. Angry at her, her editor, and all the reviews.
Oh, I also have a lot to say about The Boy in the Striped Pajamas! Like how it’s been condemned by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and the Centre for Holocaust Education, because it’s historically inaccurate and misleading.
If you like those you should try Kristin Hannah. I’ve read The Four Winds and The Nightingale and both really stuck with me (historical fiction) and touched my heart
