Hello everyone! I am compiling a list of dystopias that I want to read. I’m happy to consider any but I am mainly aiming for books very influential to the genre or that gained a lot of popularity. I am planning to read them in order of publication to see how things change. I’m especially interested in comparing them to the YA dystopia boom in the 2010s. My husband pointed out an interesting on how the current popular dystopia novels became more about teenage rebellion and resistance instead of futility and hopelessness of adults. Also how people really missed a lot of points Hunger Games made and how Hollywood/capitalism really twisted it and that era into shallow mass marketed cheap knock offs more about romance than actual resistance.
Anyways, this is the list I have so far. Happy for any suggestions.
