I feel “The Island of Sea Women” written by Lisa See would be a great movie.

“The blue Castle” by LM Montgomery. Could be “modernized” but I’d prefer the original era and backdrop
“The Exiles” by Christina Baker Kline

iirc **Redshirts** by John Scalzi doesn’t have a film/tv adaption, yet. it’s a star trek satire so a tv adaption would be most fitting.

I think a proper adaptation of Stoner by John Williams would be amazing

*The Books of Swords* by Fred Saberhagen would make an incredible TV series.

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon. I’ve read the author is working on a screenplay based on it but I haven’t heard anything lately.

The Earthsea series by Ursula LeGuin would be amazing, and it’s never had an adaptation.
It’s NEVER had an adaptation.
No, put down Google, I can assure you it’s NEVER had an adaptation, and if you find something on the sci-fi channel, that is WRONG and CRIMINAL.
(…okay, I did like the Studio Ghibli movie, but not as an adaptation. I liked it as it’s own entity)

Georgette Heyer in general – Frederica and The Grand Sophy would be the best bet but I can’t believe she hasn’t been adapted yet!

Rose Daughter by Robin McKinley really should be a Ghibli movie
And while a not very good movie was made, I was very disappointed that the Clan of the Cave Bear TV series was never made. I think it could be one of those rare cases where the show/movie is better than the books, if it’s done right.

The Secret History by Donna Tartt! The first time I read it I just saw everything as a movie, it’s so gorgeous. Although, I believe DT said she won’t sell her books for adaptations anymore after The Goldfinch so I will just continue to yearn :’(

Thought maybe a ‘Gentleman in Moscow’ film would be good. Watched a little of the series (didn’t want to ruin the book) but wasn’t feeling it. A film and a little more grittier?

There have been many attempts at an adaptation of A Confederacy of Dunces, but it’s never happened 🙁
