I‘m looking for books that branch more into high fantasy as I’m more of a contemporary fantasy (more specifically cosy romantic fantasy) reader and trying to widen my horizons.
Contemporary fantasy that I’ve enjoyed: Under the whispering door, The house in the cerulean sea, the very secret society of irregular witches
Other books I’ve enjoyed: under the black door, the spirit bares its teeth, this savage song
Romance books I’ve enjoyed: the seven year slip
I’m looking for fantasy to high fantasy, that is still easy to understand for „beginners“.
I don’t need romance, don’t mind it though. Prefer books with no smut as I’d rather read that on ao3. (Closed door or the occasional scene is fine, just don’t pretend there’s plot when really it’s just an excuse for smut)
I love complicated relationships, hurt/comfort but also trauma and that kind of stuff.
I don’t have any triggers.
My favourite thing is found family (specifically a bunch of broken people finding a home together, not just, „oh yea we’re so good friends we are basically a family“)
Love queer stories (especially with happy endings) but don’t mind straight ones.
I’m here for trans or disabled rep and am generally open for anything else 🙂
