Hi, so I’ve (26M) recently started to read, and it’s become a hobby. I wasn’t an avid reader, but I did enjoy reading 1984, TKAM and F451 in high school. Rather than just playing video games or doomscrolling, I am starting to appreciate it a lot. I’ve read some history and now getting through book one of LOTR.
My dear mother (she’s turning 60) isn’t an avid reader either. But, I feel like if she has the right material, she’d really appreciate and grow fond of reading. She’s a SAHM, loves to cook and is a hard worker in general. She is quite culturally sound, used to paint art and probably may appreciate some (later) classic literature or themes. I don’t think she’d like fiction/fantasy, but maybe something that would relate to her on some personal level.
I was considering Anne of Green Gables? It seems like a peaceful book, growing up on a farm and all. I’ve never read it. I’ve never done this before, so any suggestions would go a long way and be great. I can answer some questions to help narrow down! Thank you!
