OKay!!! Hello everybody!! sooo to give you guys a little bit of background info about me (it will be important a little later) , i'm currently 16 and have been dealing with an existential chrisis for somewhere around 1 year now , i deconverted to Atheism , it was hard to accept at first and now i'm finally okay with it , and this change implied ((for me)) living life at the fullest , which for me means going into the topics i like and exploring them , i have known about Dostoevsky and his so called "unsettling" books (so called because i only read some reviews and those are subjective) for a while now and now i wanna try them , i have been through a lot and i really like darker stuff , i read the romanian literature i have for highschool (that is what made me start searching for books) they really weren't that great , but tbh i kinda liked reading them (f.e "Ion" , "The Mill of Good Luck" ((translated)) ) , cause they are based on people killing themselves or falling into deep depressions and mistery which for me are a main attraction in a book , i love miserable things in that kind of way , so , my question is , is Dostoevsky something i should read based on my likings and experiences? or are his books something i would not enjoy that much?

    1. Well if you’re looking for that I would continue with Russian literature. It’s very depressing especially since they mostly killed themselves after realizing communism was failing. And if you want recommendations I wouldn’t pidgin hole yourself with only reading things that agree with your ideas. That’s how extremism is born. Gotta read both sides of anything to make an informed conclusion. So why limit yourself?

    2. Definitely read any Dostoevsky novel, can’t go wrong. Great writer. The Brothers Karamazov is lengthy but amazing.

Don’t see how you can’t live your life to the fullest with whatever your previous confession of faith was but ok. Happy Reading.
