I wanted the paperback copy of Fabric of Our Souls so badly because I absolutely loved it. But I refused to buy the one that's now in the stores and on Amazon because the cover is so ugly. I went on Pango books and spent $30 to buy the original cover with the skeletons on it. I refused to have the ugly cover even though it's going to be on my bookshelf that I won't be able to see it 🤣

Because it wasn’t by my favorite author
Books with fake stickers printed on them and books with movie art on the covers.
because it did not have an appealing new book smell
I’ve literally judged books by their covers a few times.
It wasn’t long enough for the price.
The cover has a man with his whole ass abs out. It gives me Wattpad ptsd + I don’t have the confidence factor to read such a thing in public
I felt the same way about the modern covers of the Queen’s Thief books. I find them so plain compared to the older editions of the older books. I got the 2001 HarperTrophy version of Queen of Attolia if only cause the cover was more unique than the later ones. I wished more books covers reflected scenes within the novel itself.
