Oof, that’s a tough one… especially considering I’m a librarian who did my undergrad studies in English Lit. Couldn’t even begin to GUESS how many books I’ve read in my life, but probably in the thousands? I average about 2 per month nowadays, but read a lot more when I was younger (especially as a kid/teen).

Favorite book? Again, tough question – so I’ll list my top 5.

      *Night* – Elie Wiesel

*Anne of Green Gables* – LM Montgomery

*The House of the Spirits* – Isabel Allende

*The Martian Chronicles* – Ray Bradbury

      *Replay* – Ken Grimwood

*The Time Machine* – HG Wells

*The Ways of White Folks* – Langston Hughes

*The Green Mile* – Stephen King

Okay, that was more than 5. Sorry. 😂

Favorite book/series is The Giver by Lois Lowry and I don’t know how many books I’ve read. The Storygraph says 132 but that only includes books that I’ve been reading since maybe 2022.

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

Including audiobooks, 3264 since graduating from college when I first started keeping a list. Adult books before that, probably another 400.

    4. Respectfully, are you under the age of 10?! For those of us who are buying our lifetime National Parks passes and/or collecting Social Security, how would you expect us to know how many books we have read in our lives? And what is the point of your inquiry?

    5. ONE favorite? Damn.

Impossible. But if you’re gonna make me…

Animal Farm or…Circe? The Uses of the Past? The Butcher’s Masquerade? A Tale of Two Cities? The Guns of August? A Wrinkle In Time? The Martian Chronicles? Probably one of those. Probably.

That’s out of, gotta be over 1000 by now. Been doing about 100 per year for 4 or 5 years, and probably 10-40 before then, for a couple of decades, going back to middle school.

At the moment, probably Reaper Man by Terry Pratchett.

I don’t know how many books I’ve read. My ebook collection is about three thousand books, but that includes some things I haven’t read and excludes a lot of things I read on paper.

    7. I have nearly one thousand books in my Good Reads list.

I was always a casual reader, maybe one book a month, but since being retired, I’ve hit 100 books a year for the last few years.

My favorite book has changed many times, but for the last few years, I re-read “The Best Man” by Richard Peck at least once a year.

My favorite novel is Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins

My favorite nonfiction is The Molecule of More by Lieberman and Long

I probably read 3 books a week from ages 5-15…I may have crossed the two thousand mark by now.

No matter how much I get old, Percy Jackson will always be my favorite. Total of 58. Started reading 2 years ago.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
      Dune by Frank Herbert
One of Us is Lying by Karen McManus

Hard to pick, maybe Walden by Thoreau; even harder to count, 60 years a reader. around 50/year average so 3000 very approximately.

I have no idea, thousands. Old now, I read at least a book a day for decades, smaller ones, more than a book a day. From a kid till old age.

I have around 450 of favourites.

Friend of mine (older, ricer) has around 28000 in his collection and yes he has read them.

Maybe more, I don’t know I don’t think he counted either.
