So, when a literary text or visual media like Avatar, Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings becomes popular, it's common for companion texts to be made. Like the cookbooks or art books or even bestiaries!
I don't want books that are companion pieces to more popular media. I'm looking for stories/books that are just the lore. For example:
- Fantasy bestiary (kind of like The Resurrectionist)
- Etiquette (as in fantasy etiquette of different species)
- Fictional holy texts (hymnals, their equivalent of the Quran, prayer book, etc…)
- Imaginary Culinary cookbook
- Folklore, folk songs and prophecies (like just pages of folklore unique to that world. Pictures are optional)
Due to this being a very niche ask I know recs are limited so please know that I'm open to:
- Stuff that's only available as PDF's
- Texts I can only get directly from the author's personal website
- A kickstarter? idk
I need the lore! Please show me the way(s) to it!
