Like the subject line says, I'm looking for something that's like Masters of the Universe but way darker. Something that combines sword & sorcery with weird science. It would also be cool if it had apocalyptic, post-apocalyptic, or dying earth vibes.
I don't think people often appreciate just how weird MotU is and how intense it could have potentially gotten. I'm sure the reason why the villains were buffoons in the cartoon is so they wouldn't scare the kids too much. I mean, the main villain has a damn skull for a face. But just imagine if Skeletor, Beast Man, et al were actually intelligent and terrifying.
