Howdy!
I work with teens and I will be taking them on a 5 day canoe trip this next week. I’m the trip lead and have a lot of influence on what they find interesting and cool haha.
I always bring one of my copies of The Moth Presents and they EAT. IT. UP. like we read the whole thing in 3 days last time it’s NUTS
Do you have any other suggestions that are adult and mature but can grab the attention of a group of teens ages 12-18. I don’t want anything geared towards YA. They truthfully just don’t like it as much as adult books. Makes them feel grown and responsible is my guess.
Ideas I have
How Far the Light Reaches
Falling In Love with Hominids
I lvoe short story books and a lot of the ones I read have too much graphic content (sex, nasty murder, etc)
If it’s geared toward the outdoors that would be super cool!
Thank you in advance!

Roald Dahl – Tales of the Unexpected.
Stories with excellent twists like cutting people’s fingers off for a bet.
Police eating the murder weapon which was a frozen leg of lamb. I loved them when I was a teen and my teen daughter was obsessed too.
I used to teach at a summer camp and The Best American Science and Nature Writing collections were always a hit. They change authors every year but the stories are real and the teens get hooked because its actual stuff that happened. Plus lots of outdoor and adventure stories in there. The 2022 one had some really good ones about climbing and wildlife.
