Hey!
Typically I read a lot of Fantasy and Science Fiction but from time to time I like to change it up with a pallet cleanser and get away from genre fiction.
Looking for some recommendations based off the following books/authors I like.
1) Emily St. John Mandel – Sea of Tranquility, The Glass Hotel, Station Eleven (the later is on my TBR)
2) Scott Alexander Howard – The Other Valley
3) Cormac McCarthy – The Boarders Trilogy, The Road
4) Piranesi – Susanna Clarke
Generally I'm big into novels that heavily interrogate their themes, ideas and characters. Plot is less important to me. I like the sensation of closing the book after the last page, staring into the middle distance at nothing in particular and just digesting what I've just finished reading.
Thanks in advanced for the recs.
