Hello 🙂 I’m looking for urban fantasy books that don’t follow the sub genre’s cliches, like plots that revolve heavily around paranormal mysteries or trope-heavy characters like shifter detectives. Pretty much the opposite of the Dresden Files series (no hate!). Some examples that I really enjoyed:
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
War of the Oaks by Emma Bull
Extra points if it’s an indie author as I’m starting to find mainstream/big-name authors too similar in style.
