Hi All. I am looking for books on the subject of Mental Health and Incarceration.
I am not looking to find books about how incarceration affects one’s mental health but rather how the current state of America’s healthcare system institutionalizes individuals not involved in the criminal system; and how individuals in the criminal system who need mental health treatment are treated.
If it helps, I have already read Angela Davis’s Are Prisons Obsolete? and while extremely helpful, does not go into the depth I want on this specific subject.
Thank you in advance! All suggestions welcome. Anything from a history of practices to an in depth dive into current practices is appreciated.
