Hello,
I am looking for eerie books that revolve around exploration of abandoned/desolate, mysterious/eerie environments where you know something is wrong (can be a planet, tomb, city) . Examples of books I loved around this topic are
-Annihilation,
-Roadside picnic,
-part of the "Doomed city" (in general anything by Strugadsky brothers is great! ),
-Invincible by Stanislaw Lem,
-At the mountains of madness (in general Lovecraft)
-if you played "returnal" on ps5, while exploring the alien world tying to figure out what happened is exactly the vibe i am looking for.
I have read a lot of posts about books like annihilation and read "a boy and his dog at the end of the world" , "Rampart trilogy" amongst others but they don't scratch quite that itch. Any recommendations you might think on this are welcome
