Someone please suggest an emotional roller coaster gut wrenching book that reminds me I have emotions. My favorites in that category are A Thousand Splendid Suns by and Night by Ellie Weisel. I’ve already read Kite Runner and I don’t want any holocaust suggestions.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Not a holocaust book but set in WW2 Germany. Made me cry like crazy. Also try Flowers for Algernon if you want your heart ripped out.
The Green Mile by Stephen King – not a horror story and I was absolutely sobbing reading the ending.
Prophet Song by Paul Lynch.
One of the few books that got a “goddamn” reaction from me.
Anything by Susan Abulhawa
The Beekeeper of Aleppo
The Last Letter
Know My Name by Chanel Miller
Two of my favs have already been suggested: The Book Thief and Flowers for Algernon. So I will add The Way Out by B. Fox. I think it was the last book I read that made me so emotional.
A Little Life
Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult
The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult
