I recently saw a post on tumblr which said something along the lines of:
The original Cyberpunk was too anti-corporate, so the American mainstream turned it into a "Cybernetics eat your soul" schtick, before it was "if we get too used to prosthetics, we might just lose ourselves to those providing them".
And that's something I want to read about, but myself don't really know how to sift through books in order to find something like that among the entire Cyberpunk genre.
