Suggest me books that gave you the greatest sense of awe at the author’s breadth of knowledge?
When I read Ulysses by James Joyce or Ted Chiang's short stories I admire their breadth of knowledge. Please recommend me books which made you think that the author has wide breadth of knowledge.

I can think of lots of nonfiction books that leave me in such awe. Do those qualify?
For example, Robert Caro’s *The Power Broker* and his four volume epic *The Years of Lyndon Johnson* are the products of exhaustive research.
