I love reading but only when I enjoy the book. I can't read otherwise. I need it to resonate with my emotions and I want the prose to keep me hooked and make me think and re-read the same lines over and over again.
How do I find books that fit my taste?
Some of the books I absolutely loved and still carry with me are-
Dark Matter by Blake Crouch
Wishlist by Sophia Money Coutts
As long as the lemon trees grow
A thousand splendid suns (a little hard to go through the book because it was a little slow for me but loved it so much)
Hunger games (but I read it long back that I can't recall what I lqoved about it)
I read some classics like book thief but haven't enjoyed it as much as the ones above. Although I like it for how well it's written and how thought provoking it is. I still find it hard to read books that are too wordy.
I can't read if I'm not hooked from the get go, and I can't read fantasy until it's written in a way my dumb brain understands otherwise I just chuck it aside saying oh I can't believe this at all.
I really want to read but I feel so overwhelmed and lost by the number of books out there. I don't know which ones to pick or how I might enjoy them.

look into *a clockwork orange*. its a tough read with how its written, but the narration is beyond words. alex is my fave narrator ever, and one of my fave characters ever conceived. there are online dictionaries that can printed on one piece of paper to help you with the *nasdat* slang.
its brutal, but truly rewarding
_Recursion_ by Blake Crouch is probably a good choice, but honestly I think your best bet is to go to a library or a bookstore and talk to somebody who works there. Give yourself a good hour or two so you can really take your time and read some excerpts to decide if it’s something you’re into
