I’m really enjoying The Collected Poems of Langston Hughes

The shortest poem I know is by Bertolt Brecht and works in German and English. Here is the English version:
Weaknesses
You had none,
I had one:
I loved.
Much of his work has been translated and the English versions are quite good.

John Berryman, Donald Justice, William Carlos Williams are all poets I’ve read quite a bit of and admire greatly. I read a ton of Alken Ginsberg as a young person and loved his work but as I get older I appreciate it less, I think.

I love the Love song of J Alfred Prufrock. The symbolism in it is something else. Other than that anything by Larkin because I’m slowly becoming a miserable person too 😂

I love Billy Collins’ “Picnic, Lightning.” There’s beauty and deep noticing with a touch of lightness and subtle humor. It’s a nice balance for a lot of poetry which often tends to the dramatic/overwrought.
