I tend to read nothing but horror. So I don't know anything else out there. A while back my child had me read the graphic novel Heartstopper. I loved it! It was super cute, had me kicking my feet when they held hands, just all around giddy.
What books would be the adult version of this? Because I wanna roll around in bed and just die with cuteness overload.

Cat Sebastian’s mid-century nyc series! The writing is excellent and the books are super cozy, sweet, tender and romantic in a very quiet and intimate way. I can guarantee you’ll be kicking your feet and smile all giddy!
**We Could Be So Good** is the first one, it’s set in 1958 and it follows Nick, a working class, Italian-American reporter, who is hopelessly in love with his “straight” best friend and colleague Andy. He doesn’t plan to do anything about it except keep loving him and being loved as a friend, but when Andy’s fiance breaks their engagement, Nick suggests they become roommates so he can help Andy through his heartbreak and yeah, *they were roommates*.
I loved how the author never shies away from period accurate homohobia but doesn’t use it to create conflict. Instead, the focus is very much on queer joy and fighting for what you deserve no matter how much the world tries to oppose you. I’ll just leave you with a quote that sums up the main theme beautifully:
>Everyone he knows is trying to assemble some kind of life from the spare parts they have lying around. And, fuck it, that’s what Andy is going to do. He doesn’t care whether the world wants to accept it. He’s going to push and shove until he and Nick have the space they need, and then he’s going to build the kind of life they want. If he wants someone to come home to, and if nick wants to be that someone, then Andy’s going to make sure they have it.
The second book, **You Should Be So Lucky**, follows a different couple in the same universe and is just as good
