A well written book that's in a unique world, plot driven but without the focus being on romance/sex. Something you can just sink into. And preferable if it's a series it's finished or still plans to be finished. I don't like reading things that won't be completed.

Some books that I think fit:
-Rithmatist by Brandon sanderson (why won't he make a second book 😭)

    -Mistborn by Brandon sanderson

    -Reckoners by Brandon sanderson

    -Bone witch by Rin Chupeco

    -Golden compass by Philip Pullman

    -Dresden files by Jim butcher

-Wizards guide to defensive baking by T King fisher

-Tainted cup by Robert Jackson Bennett

-The bear and the nightingale by Katherine Arden

    1. Sabriel by Garth Nix. I’m not sure if this series is finished or not. When I read it, there were only three books and I thought it formed a nice, self-contained series, but when looking it up on Goodreads recently, I saw there are more!

Fortress in the Eye of Time by C. J. Cherryh. This series is complete.

I really like the magic system of Ben Aaronovitch’s Rivers of London series, and that man loves a good round of worldbuilding as well. It’s urban fantasy, nine volumes so far (tenth due this year) plus some graphic novels and a handful of novellas and short stories. It’s not completed but I have no reason to think it won’t be wrapped up eventually.

    3. If you like Sanderson and haven’t already, read the Stormlight Archive series. It’s fantastic

      I love The Rithmatist too!

Check out the rest of Brandon Sanderson. There is a big read along for him just starting on reddit. I’ll be back with a link. We are only 200 pages in and the first book is available as a free pdf I believe.

Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne, Todd, and Gigi McCaffrey (23 novels, 1 novella, 11 short stories)
